The last step in the Build A Steering Wheel process is to choose your horn button. 9 BOLT Horn Buttons are specifically for 9 Bolt steering wheels such as Raven, Heritage, Rallye etc. Be sure to match the finish to the steering wheel you are purchasing. Due to more applications, there are more options with the 9 Bolt Horn Buttons. There are also Laser Etched, Dome Label and Hard Enamel options. These are explained:
- Laser Etched - A laser is used to remove the finish layer to etch the surface. Different times can be used for various parts of the design creating different tones. Essentially, it is a balance between etching and "burning" to create tones and depth. Typically three tones can be achieved.
- Dome Label - These are also referred to as Dome Tags and are essentially a foil sticker with a clear protective coating. A similar Dome Label is used for the VACP sticker. Currently, the Karmann Ghia Script is the only Dome Label offered.
- Hard Enamel - This is VACP's most recent addition. This is a highly polished Zinc button created with a mold and the colored sections are created using Hard Enamel. This option allows for the use of color. More Hard Enamel option will be coming soon.
